And I wouldn't call it dark, but you can definitely get more bottom end from it than from the DG and it does not lack in clarity at all. It is something you have to hear and feel while playing live with a band to really understand what I'm saying. The TT800 on the other hand is a very warm 3 dimensional sounding amp. Oh yeah and it was not Phantom protected which is amazing to me on a modern amp. Either I'm not one of them or there was something wrong with mine although I truly doubt it. I really could not get along with it, but there are a lot of people that really like what it does.
DARKGLASS ALPHA OMEGA 900 FULL
The DG sounds great on videos, but for me live it always had a nasty clipping sound, even though it wasn't clipping, and the distortion sounded very fizzy. Alpha·Omega Super Intelligent Footswitch has three programmable footswitches for assigning channels (Clean, Alpha, Omega, Mod) and compressor state (On or Off). I used to have a Darkglass Microtubes 500 and and currently own a Mesa TT800. Your taste may be completely different from mine, but since you asked for comparisons, here's mine. Will those of you who either own or have experience with any of these amps provide a description of how they sound? If possible also do a compare and contrast of them? Literally, watching back to back videos of the same amp one sounds like THE tone & the other sounds like garbage.

It seems like the Mesa may be too dark for my taste & the Darkglass has the clarity I‘m looking for. I’m currently leaning more toward one of the Darkglass amps. Obviously the distortion circuits are the Darkglasses bread & butter. I’m having a hard time getting a good sense of the core tone. Darkglass Alpha-Omega 900 Having the Subway and Boogie channels is the selling point for the Mesa. Between people using different basses, cabinets, DI, IR’s, EQ, etc. I don’t have time for a random road trip just to try an amp so I have to rely on videos. The closest store that carries any of them is about 300 miles away. Having the Subway and Boogie channels is the selling point for the Mesa. There are 3 amps that have caught my attention… It has served me well for many years, but I feel like I can get a lot more out of something better. It’s time for me to move on from my Behringer B4500 head.
